Beyond Caring is a new and innovative project which aims to test ways of overcoming barriers faced by carers and disabled people in accessing training and sustainable employment.
The project is particularly focusing on the barriers faced by carers and disabled people living in rural areas and as such is being rolled out throughout Tyrone and Fermanagh.
In order to test ways of overcoming the barriers we need carers, including lone parents, and disabled people to come on board and tell us the barriers they face and evaluate the programmes and interventions that we deliver. In return, they will receive free training and support to help them reach their goals.
We hope that the results of this project will influence policy and practice and remove the barriers to training and employment faced by carers and disabled people.
Beyond Caring is funded by the European Social Fund under the EQUAL NI Community Initiative and the Department for Employment and Learning.

Beyond Caring is holding an Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 11th December 2007 for those who successfully completed the Certificate in Personal Development & Learning for Unpaid Carers.
